NATIONAL CHIP AND DIP DAY – It was a difficult choice for today’s post. National Chia Day (healthy) …. National Melba Toast Day (crunchy) …. National Puppy Day (adorable). Puppies are so cute! But puppy time is fleeting. Chips and Dip, however, are an integral part of my life.
We always have the standard snacks in our house: plain wavy chips with onion dip and sour cream and onion chips. Artichoke and Asiago dip with tortillia chips are an occasional treat. But salsa, especially fresh, is my fave. I love the new bean chips and /or veggie chips with a cold, tomato dip.
But it wasn’t always like this for me. My mother did not like junk food and therefore never bought anything other than cookies. When I would visit my friend Beth (her mother bought chips), I would pray silently that she would offer me snacks. Of course, she always had them so they weren’t something she thought much about so I was rarely indulged. Maybe that is why I love them so much now.
This is making me hungry so I must go enjoy chips and dip. But first, for those of you who prefer puppies, here is a picture for National Puppy Day!
