NATIONAL KISS A GINGER DAY – Find your favourite redhead and plant a wet one on them (preferably on the cheek if you are not married to them). You might want to warn them first if you don’t know them well … or at all. The most common eye colour for a ginger is brown followed by hazel and then blue.
NATIONAL CURRIED CHICKEN DAY – Curried chicken is a favourite dish amongst the ….. British. Ha, you thought I was going to say the Indian culture. Residents of India certainly used used curry extensively as early as the 1700s but curried chicken found favour with the British Raj beginning in 1858, leaving a love of curry on the palate of the British. Curried chicken was originally created as a way to use up cold chicken. Kinda like chicken salad. Or chicken sandwiches. But more exotic.
NATIONAL MARZIPAN DAY – I could launch into a long diatribe as to how marzipan is made but I would honestly forget it all within 10 minutes and still think this food substance is weird. To me, Marzipan is a cross between icing and play dough. Enough said.
NATIONAL PHARMACIST DAY – Today is the day to celebrate that incredibly busy person who puts together our little vials of magic and actually understands the 10 page brochure included with every drug purchase. I love my pharmacists partly because their names are Maxine and Dane but mostly because they look me directly in the eye and speak earnestly about important medication information. If your pharmacist is a redhead, you have hit the Daily Double … but don’t forget to warn them first of your incoming affection! Pharmacists like to prepared.
